Candlewood Suites Sumter by IHG

Nice hotel. As others will say, there isn't a breakfast or social hour. But this is a suite style with kitchen. Microwave, coffee, couple burners, and a full sized refrigerator. Gym has working machines, a two post, and up to 50lb dumbells. Besides, there are three restaurants within walking distance. My room was clean, bed in good shape. Easy drive to Shaw.

I had a comfortable and convenient stay with spacious rooms equipped with kitchenettes, this makes it perfect for extended stays. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the hotel's amenities, such as the fitness center and free laundry facilities, are a great bonus. While the decor is simple, the atmosphere is welcoming, providing a relaxed home-away-from-home experience.

Staying here is a total nightmare. It smells like a nursing home and expired food. I stayed in a suite and there was black mold covering the bathroom walls, brown liquid splashed on the white bathroom door. I told the front desk and they said they would have someone clean it the next day during the hours I told them because I wanted to be present. They not only came outside the hours I told them but came while I was not there. I feel extremely violated and disrespected. Also just to see they painted over the mold and brown stains. On top of that it is extremely wet and muggy inside. The rugs feel grimey to touch, it smells EVERYWHERE in this building it feels like a sauna. I’m here on a military deployment and all I want to do is relax after my grueling work day and I can not. DO NOT

The Candlewood Suites were a good choice. The suites were spacious enough for two people and a small dog. Surprisingly, their sheets were very soft and the bed was comfortable. The young lady at the front desk was very sweet and professional. We liked it so much, we stayed again one week later!
