Red Roof Inn Charleston - Kanawha City, WV

I've stayed here for a week and everything was great! Clean room, hot shower, awesome complimentary toiletries, and the best staff I've ever encountered in the hotel industry! From having coffee ready in the morning, to the quiet atmosphere at night, it's been a great stay. Sure, there were a few stains and cigarette burns on the linens, but they were clean. That's what matters to me. A great rate and a comfortable stay. A nice, quite place to rest when traveling! I had my 15 year old Border Collie with me, and they welcomed her as well. No crazy deposits or fees! Even my dog was happy to be there!!

DO NOT stay here. Absolute worst hotel experience of my 50 year life, including third world countries. Disgusting and dangerous. The person at the front desk was polite and courteous but it all went downhill immediately from there. First, the key did not work. I went back to the front desk and was given a different room. The key did not work again, after many tries. Went back again. Maintenance was called. Maintenance opened the room with their own master key and after many many attempts with my key, but I could not trust it to work, so I couldn't leave the room. Maintenance guy just shrugged. The room was filthy. Sticky footprints on the floor. Yellow splatters on the toilet, which struggled to flush. Red stain on the bedding. Sticky and gross TV remote, without the "guide" b

ZERO STARS — DO NOT STAY HERE.||This Red Roof Inn in Kanawha City, WV is an absolute disgrace to the brand and, frankly, should be shut down.||From the moment we checked in, the experience was hostile and unacceptable. The front desk clerk, NEELA, was rude, aggressive, and openly confrontational. Her behavior was so unprofessional that it’s hard to believe she is allowed to interact with paying guests at all.||The room she assigned us was filthy beyond description. The floors were so sticky that our shoes stuck to them. The bed and sheets were covered in dog hair. This wasn’t just “unclean” — it was unsanitary and revolting. The busy signal coming from the unworking sticky and dirty phone, even though the receiver was hung up, was also unacceptable. No guest should ever be put into a room

The staff at night/ the early early am was VERY sweet! And yes due to weather we had to keep in mind with the coldness being in the negative. When we got to our room our door would NOT open, we go back to the front desk and they "upgraded" us- and I'm. Honestly nkt to sure what the upgrade was but it was sweet of them to do so. But the 2nd room the toilet wouldn't flush and had weird stuff in it. Then back to the front and they gave us the room next door. So it's 3am now and we have switched 3 times... again I'm greatful that they we're trying! The 3rd room the heat wasn't working and we had it on the highest and the bed sheets were nasty and stained & the place was just dirty...
