Charleston Marriott Town Center

I'm a hotel manager, and I'll start by saying this is an older property, in need of an update, if you're looking for state of the art modern Marriott, this is perhaps not it. That being said, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room and common areas, very clean and in outstanding condition, given the furniture is probably 12-15 years old (it's nearly perfect). The staff was outstanding, and very friendly, excellent service (it is very hard managing an older property and keeping a smile on your face all day, and they nailed it!) and the food in the restaurant was good too. I understand a major face lift is on the way for the property, and I'm super eager to get back to Charleston to see the results!

Pretty disappointed, this Marriott was very old and needs some serious updating. Mattress was uncomfortable, old bathroom. TV was small and didn't have many channels. $17 for a buffet breakfast. We didn't bother. We stayed 2 nights and would have chosen The Embassy Suites instead if we hadn't pre paid.

Positive: Convenient location, clean, easy to get to. Negative: I feel like the pet fee and hotel parking is a little higher than it should be.

Stayed overnight in August on our way home to Virginia. We were greeted with a very nice front desk staff. Lobby looked well kept. Room was upper floor. Very clean and spacious. M Lounge for the night had a nice layout of cheeses and snacks, with a small hot meal of streak cubes and rice. Our server, Neccy Sheherd, has warm and friendly disposition and treats everyone like family. So sweet! Breakfast was incredible the following morning. Fast forward: Heading to Kentucky and this hotel just happened to be directly in between to our advantage. Arrive and was THRILLED Neccy was working. Will definitely stay here next time we are in the area.

We stayed here because we had a major winter storm in the area and lost power at our house. Upon checking online the Marriott was a convenient location with a pool and hot tub main reasons we rented this because we knew it would be hectic with two little ones entertaining them in a hotel room upon a arrival we found out that the pool is no longer in service and that some sites are still advertising it wrong. There is no microwave in the room. The refrigerator doesn’t work. The rooms are extremely outdated we could’ve stayed next door at embassy for the same price and had a pool and free breakfast. Lesson learned Marriott is not what it used to be to be.
