Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Charleston WV

I’ve stayed here twice. It’s right off the highway there’s a Hardee’s and a gas station right across the street. Rooms are always clean fair price. Staff is always kind. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is because sometimes the room key card glitches out and you have to go back downstairs to get your card fixed. Other than that this place is awesome.

Had to pay cash and give $100.00 cash deposit. Not an issue. We had to leave extremely early for the airport to drop off my daughter. I later called hotel to let them know I would pick my deposit up later. I arrive and the desk lady tells me they didnt have my deposit. She informed me that i could pick it up tomorrow at 11am. The lady was nice enough but embarrassed. How do you not have my deposit? When asking this question a gentleman was standing at the desk and he said to me "the owner probably got it" Im assuming he was a guest and was checking in or out. Great stay convenient to airport , friendly staff. Clean rooms but pay with plastic, keeping your room deposit is bad business

After researching motels in the Charleston, West Virginia area, my wife and I decided on the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham located near The Mound in South Charleston. We reserved the room with Hotels.com, which made it very simple to do. Being centrally located near the interstate exchanges made it an excellent choice for traveling while visiting family and friends in the surrounding area. We stayed at this motel for 15 Nights, from September 5th to September 20, 2025. We observed the daily activities at this motel on many occasions. When we checked in we were met at the front desk by a very nice young lady named Jamie. She checked us in quickly, and, she was very knowledgeable about the property and the surroundings. Positive: Nothing. Chose itbecause of the ratings, but this didn't meet the expectations. Not to self. Check Google Earth to see the surroundings. Negative: Location, staff wasn't friendly. Either on their phones, or outside smoking. Never greeted you as you came and went which is a first for us on this 3 month trip. Room was tiny. Duh.?its Microtel. Breakfast wasn't a full breakfast either.

This Microtel is the absolute BEST Wyndham Hotel I've utilized in over 35 years of traveling around the country. Clean throughout the facility...lobby, elevator, rooms ...all sparkling. Kelly and the rest of the staff so friendly and professional. A true GEM in the Wyndham system. This is a fscility I will use over and over again. FANTASTIC value for your money and if you can use "points" it's a Christmas gift!
