Ramada by Wyndham Pasadena

Travelled from Canada, stayed in Citizen M, ( wonderful hotel) in LA, bf coming here. Here, we booked a 2 bed room, its a very run down OLD motel, the large rooms were okay, but its expensive for the $ we pay, the charge should be around 65$ to 70$ or less for a night maximum,.... the quality of breakfast, the front desk, the staff the elevators, building... only 2 stars. However, except the front desk guy with poked ears, the rest were nice and helpful. I can forgive that staff too, who know what they go through in life.

Couldn't find our reservation at check-in. This was eventually resolved, but it's just the beginning. ||They gave us the key to a room that was already occupied. We walked into another guest's room full of their personal belonging. They assigned us a different room, but we already felt a sense of unease from the beginning.||Minutes later when we were preparing to head out, we noticed the balcony door's lock was broken. Our room was at street level facing the street. We ended up jamming the armchair against the doors so it couldn't be opened from the outside. (By the way, they do not have safes in the rooms either)||Some minor cleanliness issues as well. One of the pillows had some red stains all over. There were some flies in the room when we walked in. Overall not the cleanest hotel room

Check in staff not friendly at all, always up tight & suspicious. The clerk felt a need to press me about how many people were going to be staying since I got a larger room and gave me an unnecessary difficult time about it even though I was by myself, trying to play detective and fish for what wasn't even there. The overall building looks run down, upon arriving to the room; the quality was not up to par to expectations of their advertising. There was xposed wires from the drywall and large spider webs on the patio walls. There wasn't even any towels in the bathroom. The breakfast is below mediocre. My advice would be to take the extra drive to go somewhere else. I would not stay here again

Positive: leaving Negative: hotel staff placed us in a room facing a busy street that was well lighted at night when they had plenty of interior rooms available.

Overall, my stay was good. The complimentary breakfast was very enjoyable and a great way to start the day. The hotel is in a decent, safe area, which I appreciated. My only concern was the condition of the seating furniture in the room, it was quite dirty. I would actually suggest replacing the seating furniture altogether, as it really took away from the overall comfort. With that improvement, the experience could be much better.
