Nice remote campground. Just a heads up I don’t remember if this information was online, but there is no water and no electricity and limited reception, just a pit toilet (with no toilet paper). Also no fire pits with wire racks, there are just stone pits at every campsite and a picnic table. We went in late may while it was still cool out and we were the only ones there. Cool place with really nice view of the lake. Campground could be a little better maintained. Also: Not very RV and trailer camper friendly but doable. The gravel roads coming in are rough and the uneven roads in the campground are tight and narrow. The terrain is unkept on the campsites too. Sites near the lake are much bigger would recommend booking those. There aren’t many good pictures of the site layouts so I’ll a
This was at the end of the trans Wisconsin adventure trail and was a welcome place to cool off. There’s a lot of rocks and not beach so I wouldn’t swim here but was able to get my feet in the water and splash my face. There’s a bit of a downhill climb to the lakefront but there’s a rope to hang onto so it felt safe! Thanks to whoever put that rope in place.
Great campground. No posted rules but most campers are respectful of noise and appropriate quiet hours. I had service at our campsite. The campsites are very close to Lake Superior. No swimming access, which is not disappointing considering we went swimming in the Lake in August and it took my breath away, ice cold! Outhouse only central to campsites. Wood can be bought in nearby towns: Bayfield, Herbster, etc. No large cities nearby. Campsites seem well maintained.
This was by far the most beautiful place yeah I had to drive on some crazy roads but wow was it worth it I’m in love with this place and the peace it brought me
Nice secluded campground on the shores of Lake Superior. Stayed on a weekend in the middle of July and there were only 4 other campsites occupied. Campsites are very near the lake with a few trees and brush in between. You can walk down to the lake via multiple paths but it is steep. There is a pit outhouse with a light. Sites ideal for tent camping or small campers or class B RVs. First come, first serve sites. Pay the $25 registration fee at the casino hotel and then drive up several rural gravel roads to site. We had 1 bar of cell service with both AT&T and Verizon. Pros: Quiet and semi-private Large sites Access to the lake Fire pits and grills at most sites Plenty of sites to choose from Cons: Poorly maintained No TP in outhouse Bags of trash laying around the outhouse and entrance
