This Inn is a perfect "get away from it all" spot. It also happens to be in the heart of Portland, ME, which is a lovely small city with some of the best food and coffee I have had anywhere. The stores, museums, galleries, bars, restaurants, coffee, bakeries, etc...here are remarkable! The Percy Inn's rooms are quaint and comfy. They have all the personal touches you don't have in hotels. The vibe here is that the owners care about your experience. It is quintessential New England charm. The fruit pies for breakfast are ridiculously good! Thanks to the owners for making my family and friend's stay here so warm and memorable. We had a great long weekend in Portland together.
Percy Inn was so cute and a wonderful stay while in Portland. It was within walking distance of many restaurants and bars and made it easy to navigate the city. We stayed in the Walt Whitman room and it was adorable and comfortable. The stairs were a little precarious but nothing crazy.
Quaint old building. Interesting bedrooms. Good breakfast with delicious pie. Helpful owner on booking and during stay. Steep stairs if on top floor (we weren't). Can walk easily into old Portland and harbour area. Self check in worked well.
I don’t understand why anyone would rate this place below 5 stars- the ambience, location, price point and cleanliness was fantastic. We stayed in the Elizabeth BB suite for 3-4 nights. It was very clean, which is the biggest thing for me, and well appointed and decorated beautifully. We never made it upstairs for breakfast, but enjoyed the guest patio and early coffee. Just pay attention to the specific room you book, building set up, rules, read the website and other reviews, and the guest info book in the room and you shouldn’t have any problems. If you can’t do stairs, book the first floor or stay somewhere else. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend. The neighborhood was awesome, and we walked everywhere in the downtown within 5 minutes to half an hour. We were able to leav
I thought the room was comfortable and very clean. What I am taking issue with is what they call a breakfast. The coffee was weak and just tasteless . The breakfast food offered left an awful lot to be desired. If you advertise as a bed and breakfast, offer a real breakfast. If it’s a continental breakfast then say it is. The owners are obviously tone deaf to this because the criticism of the breakfast and coffee is consistent throughout the reviews. I was also taken aback when I was told that I cannot sit on the padded window seat to drink my coffee. Why have a window seat if you can’t sit in it? Overall, the room was fine the breakfast and coffee needs to be desperately rethought.
