Fortland

Loved my stay on Fortland! It was a great balance of adventure and comfort. We started our little trip with a fun boat ride over to the island, were welcomed by Grace, our host, who provided a lovely tour, and then we explored the historic forts and beautiful beaches around the island! The glampsite was private, impeccably well-kept, and the bed was incredibly comfortable and warm for a chilly overnight. Loved watching the sunset over the water and getting to see Portland's skyline in the distance. The firepit surrounded by Adirondack chairs with S'mores supplies was a huge hit. 5/5 stars! Thanks for a great time!

I planned an overnight at Fortland as a surprise for our one year wedding anniversary, and it did not disappoint. It was our favorite part of our trip to the New England states. Everything is very well thought out and very well maintained. We had a great time from the moment we arrived until we left. We explored the fort and the beaches. Our biggest regret was only staying one night!

We were looking for a place to unplug and simply relax. Fortland was the perfect place. No difficulties arriving and settling in, staff very accommodating, and accommodations were exceptional. The fort and the island is great place to explore and Stefan's tour of the fort is something you don't want to miss. If you like quiet walks on the beach and time alone with someone special don't miss this place. Will we return.

Unbelievably amazing experience!! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for adventure, gorgeous views, cool history, and island life! The yurt was well appointed with very high quality linens and blankets, which we really appreciated given we stayed last weekend so a chilly part of the season. The entire pickup/drop-off process went smoothly and all the staff were so friendly! The island was peaceful and relaxing!

Fortland was the perfect getaway. Scenic views, well thought out property. Owner and staff are friendly and eager to make your stay special! Just a short boat ride off the coast of Portland makes Fortland easily accessible! Clean and extremely well maintained. Enjoyed our coffee in the morning on the perch! History abounds…..we’ll be back!
