Palatka Downtown

Very cute and quaint. Pizza place was excellent. Some cute stores, but several boarded up.

I was very impressed with the downtown area. St. John’s is the Main Street and is filled with all types of shops. There are about 4-5 restaurants along this particular street. I wanted to try Velchoff’s which is near the river across from the Hampton hotel but they were closed (not open on Monday and Tuesday). I did have the opportunity to eat at Angel’s Diner which is located on Hwy 17 and you can easily access from St. John street. It’s actually behind the shops. I ate at Angel’s diner which is the oldest diner in Florida (1932). I also bought ornament of restaurant created by one of the owners (Wendy) at Gem City Cottage. They have a large selection of items created by locals. Definitely worth the visit. There is plenty of free parking along the street and if you want to walk the leng
