Holiday Inn Express & Suites Palatka Northwest by IHG

The stay was for 1 night. Hotel was nice and very clean. As I checked in I asked the front desk if they would honor the rate currently on thier web page. It was about $50 cheaper than my reservation amount. I was told no. My gosh the location is in Palatka, why is it so high anyways? 280 for 1 night!!! I understand I had a previous non paid reservation, however to keep a customer for future stays you probably should have honored the lower amount. Also upon checking in then proceeding to our room on the second floor, we encountered a very strong skunk weed smell. This continued all night and into the morning hours. I had let the front desk know and they just said it's terrible. This made the transition to and from our room very unpleasant. As a guest have some consideration for others. The

Room was bigger and nicer than expected. It was great! The only thing I didn’t like was the shower/water/tub. The water drained slow so you stood in water while showering. Also, it was difficult to pull the tab to turn on the shower. Almost pulled off the tub spigot. But maybe that’s just an issue in room 210.

Our arrival at the property was uneventful. The lobby area was undergoing renovation. The Receptionist was cordial and recognized me as a One Rewards member. When we arrived at the room, we always complete an inspection and, of course, perform our own cleaning. When we checked the bathroom/shower, it it had not been cleaned from the previous guest! There was hair and dirty smuges all over. The commode was running water continuously. I notified the front desk agent and she advised us that housekeeping had gone for the day. I was ready to say we needed another room if no one was going to clean it. However, the front desk attendant said she would ask the laundry person who was there to come and clean the bath. Hi, we booked at this hotel for springbreak and i would not recommend that hotel. They are very greedy and we believe we got stolen from them. Also service is horrible and the place needs major upgrades

Decent hotel, my only issue is that the shower doors never stayed shut. Beyond that a decent hotel.
