OYO Hotel Sumter SC Downtown

I reserved the hotel for 5 nights. First when I arrived and checked in, they took almost 40 minutes to check me in. Second, when I entered the room they gave me there was still trash left behind and dirty floor with no toilet paper nor tissue. So I know that they never clean the room. There was dust in the bed and the TV are broken, even the air conditioning is not working in this hot summer. I ask for refund but the Indian guy said he do no refund and he doesn’t care. So we just drove away, losing $283. They didn’t even clean the room or refill toilet paper and soap: how are we going to use the bathroom and shower? They let people live in this disgusting hotel and scam people’s money.

Saturday, 10/29/22 - Should be negative stars. The room was totally disgusting. Killed two bugs upon entering room. Floor wasn't clean as there were leaves/trash tracked across it. Spots on the bed cover and sheets...there was even trash debris in the bed skirting. Looking further, no bath linens, no toilet paper (the roll holder had been ripped off the wall, shower was dirty...this room was total filth. This was the MOST DISGUSTING hotel/motel room I have ever been given. All this for $70+/night. We immediately returned to your front desk and promptly checked out and requested refund. Was told it would take 7 - 10 days for credit card refund... Now, I wait...

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The smoke alarm to my room was sitting on the dresser and was replaced by a wad of paper towels. My bed has no fitted sheets. I felt like I had to take a shower just before and after sleeping in the bed. Looked like something out of a movie. Lights flickering, homeless people wandering around, eight bags of trash just in a huge pile in the hallway. I saw the place, then saw my room and went right back out to go buy sleep medicine because I knew that was the only way I could go to sleep in this place. Whoever owns this dumpster fire needs to be out of business immediately. It’s despicable. I hope this helps out then out of business honestly. They charged my card $170 for me feel like I was spending a night on skid row.

I travel for work, and I have stayed at dozens of cheap motels. My standards are low. This is by far the worst one I've ever stayed at. Everything was dirty. The shower floor, shower curtain, bathroom floor, bathroom counter all had stains and debris that could have easily been washed away. The bedroom floor was too dusty to walk barefoot on, and the bed smelled weird. The toilet wouldn't flush, and the cold/hot water was mislabeled in the shower. I also noticed a poorly patched hole in the ceiling. Despite motels getting a bad reputation in general, I've never stayed at a motel so blatantly unkempt. The cherry on top was that two men nearly got in a fistfight outside my window at 6 AM. Overpriced trash.

One of the worst run-down dumps I have ever stayed in. The smoke alarm was broken and just hanging on the wall. Running water in the heavily stained sink caused water to leak from the faulty drain all over the floor. The floor was not even swept. Behind the bathroom door was an interesting collection of dead bugs hair and dirt. When I turned the heater on the room was filled with the stink of tobacco smoke, making me think the filter had not been changed in a long time. An all together disgusting experience. If I had not been really tired, I would have asked for a refund and went on down the road.
