Newport News Parks Campsite Office

Love Newport News park campground. Great location close to everything but still gives you the feeling of being away from home. Large wooded lots. B52 is a great lot in that it is flat and you still have a view of the water. Beautiful sunsets, plenty of room.

Oh the cruelty to have bathhouses that are locked. Some people with poor decision-making skills might decide it's a great idea to run the length of the bike path. They might also realize they really need a bathroom right around the end of the 5 mile path where it exits at the campsites. You don't know how exciting it is to see a bathhouse when you really need one and are dreading popping a squat over the snow covered ground. Nor can you imagine the disappointment to find the door locked. Sigh. Zero stars on facilities yall

The park itself is beautiful and historic. We asked to be close to the restrooms. The women's was out of order so our husband's had to go and stand outside the men's bathroom every time we needed to go. Then the one and only toilet in the men's restroom got stopped |up. There is no paper towels in the bathrooms or trash cans. Not even anywhere near the campsites. No fire rings on campsites. It cost over $40 nightly just for campsite with electric and no water. The bathrooms and campsites need attention badly! We got up as soon as the sun came up and packed up and left. Enjoy the park during the day and find another campground! One more thing, they only have one campsite for the handicap...ridiculous!

We are in C loop close to bathhouse.. there's a company they have hired to clean up. Let's just say they signed the time and never touched the showers all day. They are disgusting it's literally like they have no integrity in what they do. The bathroom stall had dried poop on the walls. Men's bathhouse my husband who is retired military said it was as if this was a third world in the slum bathhouse just nasty. This is a State Park we pay to keep it up also pay to camp in it. Do Better and start checking behind those people who put there initials on things and not doing there full jobs. I should charge for the cleaning supplies I bought to clean one bathroom stall just so I and others had a semi decent stall to use. I had an amazing experience at the Newport News Campground! The atmosphere was relaxing, the stay was comfortable, the rates were affordable, and every moment was exciting. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and recharge in a peaceful, refreshing environment. Highly recommend
