Newport News Marriott at City Center

I was excited to finally stay at this Marriott since my only experience was being in the lobby briefly for a small photoshoot years ago. The location is great in that City Center is well located to get to several areas in Newport News, and the hotel overlooks the main shopping area and lake, which is peaceful. I want to commend the staff for their professionalism, friendliness, and overall helpful demeanor. I failed to do a thorough look through of the room before I got settled in because I was late for the event I was in town for and needed to change out of travel clothes and get there quickly. When I returned to the room a few hours later, I noticed several questionable housekeeping and room security issues that I honestly could and should have caught when I first arrived. I quickly repo

I attended a soundscapes concert. The music was terrific. These young people are prodigies. This program was established in 2009, in the Newport news school system. I want to thank the organizers of the program, for a well planned evening. I am asking all who may read this, to please support soundscapes with any amount of money affordable. Thanks .

There were a few things such as the design of the cabinet housing the tv which made viewing it awkward (but we didn’t watch much tv), no vent in the bathroom, no microwave. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, attending events at the hotel for our class reunion. Staff members were friendly, funny & helpful. I loved the automated fragrance of the lobby, it was so wonderfully soothing and pleasant. Every time I went through the lobby, it was a lovely aromatic experience. It set the mood for a delightful stay. Then the view from our room was quite beautiful overlooking the fountain. And the bed was so comfortable. We had several events which went well including a local ice cream vendor who enhanced a social gathering, use of the stylish patio & bar. And spacious ballrooms for a gathering one

I had a phenomenal check-in experience with Kaleb at the Newport News Marriott at City Center. Kaleb was extremely helpful, personable and welcoming. We arrived before our check-in time and Kaleb was able to get us in a room very quickly. He provided a thorough overview of the property to ensure my friend and I have a great stay. I would highly recommend this property and Kaleb’s excellent customer service. 10/10

The staff were excellent and really went out of their way to help our stay be more pleasant. Our bar tender AJ was so very helpful and the bar food was surprisingly delicious. The rooms are older and the hot water was absent in the morning. Take a shower at night!! It worked well for us as a family member was having surgery at Riverside Hospital. Thanks to all who helped make our visit a little more pleasant. N
