Motel 6 Newark, DE

Great staff. Harsh was awesome. Cleaning crew was awesome and kind. Spoke great English too. Sorry I wasn’t trying to be racist etc just I like to try to practice my Spanish when I can! I speak like a broken 5 year old so I appreciate the patience. Popeyes and Dokin Donuts need to stop leaf blowing their trash into the parking lot though. Also WiFi doesn’t appear to work from the back area.

Positive: Surprisingly clean! Negative: False advertisement! I paid extra for spa room. Front desk says after I check in that they haven't had jacuzzi rooms in couple years!! I only booked there for the jacuzzi rooms.

So, I stayed here a few years ago (Parent weekend at UDell) and the place was a dump. I accidentally booked it again and it's not bad. Looks to be completely renovated. Great value I suppose and location. The TV is analog which is weird. Smells like paint but hay, clean and quiet.

Where to start ?|First: I don’t want to hear from management or the team about how concerned they are about your unpleasant stay. They get so many bad reviews “We are going to improve things, look into things”. Yet it never gets done even after years of poor reviews nothing changes. |Secondly: we made reservations 1 1/2 months ago. |Third: We arrived, went inside the young man at the front desk was pleasant. I said I want to be shown the room we were staying in. |He walk us to the back of the motel. I heard really loud music. Go around the corner and this young lady was sitting on a beach chair in the parking lot, with a large radio/ cd player with 3 children running around screaming. The children were sticking screws and such into the tires of other parked cars. The music was deafening.

Overall, very nice! They have handicap rooms close to the office. They also have a beautiful gazebo! It is currently being remodeled and the rooms are modern, clean, come with daily room service. They share the lot with Popeyes, Dunkin, and Smileys. They also have on-site laundry and an ice machine. Our only complaints would be, no iron or board and you can hear the noise from outside.
