Motel 6 Marshalltown, IA

The first room I was in, the bed didn’t have a top sheet, had to get one and make the bed. After messing with the shower the fixture wouldn’t work, and there was also black mold present in the room. The second room, the bed was made right, and the shower worked. I most likely will NOT stay there again. This makes the second motel in Marshalltown, IA. I won’t go back to. I’m noticing although overall nice people, people who are owner/ managers of places like this are NOT well versed in cleaning.

The guy at the front desk was quick which i appreciated, however, the room i was checked into was *dirty* there was some kind of sketchy stain in the bathroom and there was hair and weird spots on the sheets. I only stayed one night which was fine and the bed (despite the dirty sheets) was so soft. Definitely be weary, but if it's all that you can afford (like me) its absolutely better than nothing

Nice, updated room with all amenities. Staff was friendly. Will consider staying again on our way through. The only thing lacking was fresh grass, instead there was a small carpeted area for pets. Our dog is not used to doing her business on artificial turf.

The check in process was flawless. We found our room very clean. The window was a bit tough to open though. This location was in walking distance to major shopping and eating establishments. For being situated near shopping and the highway, it was surprisingly quiet. Highly recommend.
