Motel 6 Effingham, IL

Not as clean as other reviews reported. Could use some repairs. Steps going up could use work. We were traveling with our cat so it was good for that reason. They don't ask and don't charge for pets. No elevator.

First thing , during bed Inspection I found so many hairs on the brown blanket. Look I know the duvet covers don't get clean regularly but the damn blanket and sheets should. I work in hospitality so I was kind and understanding and just asked for new bedding. Next thing the mattress pad is disgusting . The sheet was protecting us from the mattress protector. It's a spacious room with almost nothing in it. We checked in later so upon waking we noticed how disgusting the place was. The tub was gross , hair all over sink, shower curtain and tub , floors were covered in something gross by both night stands and lookedto be animal shit in front of the TV stand. When I saw housekeeping cart there wasn't a single wet mop on it. Maybe invest in wet mops to clean floors. Add some pastries with the

First they charged us $98.56 for one nights stay when the website said only around $57.00 for one nights stay. We went into the room, there was no coffee maker, only half the lights worked in the room, the TV didn't work, and the handle on the hot water side of the shower almost fell off. They have a lovely list of things each room is supposed to have but our room was lucky to have a refrigerator in it and clean towels. Good thing we only stayed for one night.

Positive: Great location right off the Highway and close to other businesses. Super new bathroom! Negative: Noise from neighbors, odors upon entering room. But World Class reno in bathroom overcame all other probs.

We always stay here on the way to Texas. There is a big parking area where you can park your RV or truck. The room was clean, had a nice hot shower, good TV, The heat worked fine. Had a nice refrigerator, the bed was super comfortable. We slept like rocks after a full day of driving. Oh and our little dog stayed with us no extra charge! Not the most beautiful place but a good place to rest for a decent price!
