Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Effingham

The hotel was nice and clean; however, the room definitely needed updating. The bed was soft, but you definitely rolled to the middle. Breakfast was sparse & the poor lady working it was overwhelmed & needed help. Location was fantastic for us to quickly hit I-70. Prices were affordable.

This was a great hotel. Only complaints is there are a lot of stray cats that hang out there. My dog took off after one and we had to spend a lot of time finding her. We were leaving before 6 breakfast isn’t until 630 so that sucked too. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Ac was fantastic my daughter said she almost froze to death I slept like a baby lol! Huge open area my good dog was able to run around in so that was very nice. However it’s right next to the freeway so it’s ts a bit nerve wrecking if a less behaved dog (Luna) runs away! Overall stay was great would stay here again

When we first walked in there was someone standing at the front desk waiting to greet us unlike most hotels where you have to wait around for somebody's help we received chocolate chip cookies they were delicious. check in was extremely easy and the person at the front desk was pleasant. The room was clean and didn't smell like pets or cigarettes like most hotel rooms despite it having carpet. The only real problem was or toilet keep running but when you closed the bathroom door it was enough of a sound bearer so I didn't bother us. There was outdated furniture that was heavily used but expected because it is a hotel room I do not come To sit in the room and look at all 4 walls I want to experience the amenities they have for us The work out room smelled of body odor to the point I had

Overall, a good hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and staff was friendly. My only complaint about the room was the lack of USB-C ports. There were only two USB-A ports on the alarm clock, that's all. I called the front desk to see if there were any more in the room that I missed, but no. My husband and I needed to charge our phones and my tablet overnight, but we couldn't. I was surprised at the lack of ports in a hotel in 2025, especially a Marriott, which is where I always choose to stay. They could at least have chargers available at the front desk for guests to borrow. If you're staying here, be sure to bring your own charger or USB-C to USB-A cable.
