Holiday Inn Express & Suites Effingham by IHG

Easy, friendly check in very late at night. Front desk staff was extremely nice and great to chat with. Room was VERY quiet, comfortable, and really clean. Perfect for a much needed long rest from driving. Skipped breakfast because we slept so well!

The employees make this a great place to stop. Samantha, Sally, and Justin were all very kind and helpful to me. I am handicapped and was traveling alone. They made things easier for me. Blessings upon them.

Positive: Friendly check-in clerk Negative: The furnace unit would get hot then blow in cold air to cool it down on auto. When it was 30degrees outside. We couldn’t even just put it on heat without it blowing the outside cold air into the room. Breakfast subpar compared to other HIE.

Wonderful stay, and one of my best hotel experiences ever!! The hotel was immaculate, quiet, comfortable, and had wonderful amenities! I loved the hot breakfast, the hot water/herbal tea in the lobby, the pool/hot tub area that was open till midnight (couldn’t figure out how to use the sauna or it might have been broken, but it was at least nice going in and sitting in it for a minute. lol. They bring back wonderful memories from growing up), and I loved the later checkout time, as well as many other things. It was also easily accessible from the highway and right by a gas station to fuel up for the rest of my trip. Kudos to the hotel management, friendly staff, and everyone involved in making it a top-notch place!!

The room was very comfortable, and the bed provided an excellent night’s rest. The location was also quite convenient. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience did not meet expectations. The bacon lacked flavor and texture, resembling paper strips. The cream cheese and whipped spread appeared to be artificial substitutes rather than authentic products, and many of the offerings felt generic. The cinnamon raisin bread and bagels were noticeably dried out, as though they had been left exposed to air. When I shared my concerns with the front desk, I was disappointed to overhear staff members from both the kitchen and front desk discussing the matter in an unprofessional manner. While the accommodations were pleasant, the breakfast quality and staff conduct left a negative impression.
