MainStay Suites Detroit Auburn Hills

Every time I have stayed at the Mainstay Suites in Auburn Hills, I have been received and treated like family. Miss Gina and all the staff at the front desk and housekeeping have been nothing but kind, welcoming, helpful and attentive. I move around for work and have stayed in many different extended stays in different states. The people working in them make a difference in the experience every time. I am, and will always be grateful to the staff at the Mainstay Suites for everything they have done and continue to do every time I stay with them. They make repairs whenever needed promptly in the rooms, the keep the rooms clean, they are responsible with the mail, they offer assistance every time. I am grateful for the Mainstay Suites staff. They are my family while I am in Michigan.

This place was just grungy. Stains on the carpeting, stains on the upholstery. We had to put a sheet on the couch and chair to sit on it. Blow dryer was not working, one remote had no batteries in it, elevator not working and we were on the third floor. The side door by our staircase was left open at night. We did not feel very safe here. We only stayed past the first night because we booked with airline points. I would NOT recommend!

Super upset that we chose this hotel - it was absolutely disgusting and dirty. We saw roaches in the bathroom, the carpet and furniture (mainly the couch) was filthy. The chair was barely standing on wobbly legs. I was constantly scanning the walls for bugs. The rooms reeked of smoke, so much so that we asked management to inspect our room so they could verify it wasn’t us that was smoking, in case we got slammed with a “smoking charge” upon checkout. My daughter slept on the gross pull out couch which we had to literally cover in three sheets just to give me piece of mind that whatever yucky stuff was imbedded in the cushions wouldn’t touch her. I have never stayed at such a dilapidated “hotel” in my life. I will say that the only positive was that it was pretty quiet, despite the weirdos

The rooms are nice, a little outdated but comfortable and clean. The price is great for the area, especially for extended stay guests. Most of the staff is kind and helpful... Gina does a outstanding job managing the location. Maria is very helpful and understanding.

I had a horrible experience got to the hotel they overbooks gave my handicap sweet away had to get a common room. Door did not accommodate wheelchair my son had to crawl on the floor at which he is a grown man was put on the second floor with a wheelchair and had a fire alarm going off at 3:15 in the morning started to panic with my son because the elevators do not work when there is a fire alarm going off. Staff was wonderful. If you have a disability please do not stay here
