We rented the Alder Cottage for 4 nights over the Thanksgiving holiday and were very impressed. ||Every year we return to Fort Bragg to visit my husband's family for the holiday and struggle with finding just the right accommodations for our family that will allow us comfort, convenience and affordability. We found that here at Lodging & Llamas.||The cottage is spacious, quiet, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is also very convenient, as it is only minutes away from town. ||There were 4 of us on this trip, myself and my husband and our two boys. The cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so this allowed all of us our privacy. There is also a roll away bed for an extra guest if needed. The kitchen is well equipped, there are plenty of towels and linens provided and

Great price and beautiful grounds! Cabins are quaint and close to the beaches. The only downside was the water tasted awful - take your own. We will go back in the future (with bottled water).

The llama trek is a fun experience and well worth the money. There were two of us, and we each led our llama on a trail on the bluffs next to the ocean. The friendly and interesting llamas carried our picnic supplies. There is an option to trek with the llamas on the coast or in the redwoods. The scenery was wonderful, and we were lucky enough to see grey whales and harbor seals on the trek as well. Our trek started at 11 AM and lasted a few hours. We drove north of Ft Bragg. It was a bit challenging to book, but I highly recommend it. It's something everybody who likes animals should try at least once. It was a highlight of my little trip to the coast.

Four of us stayed at Alder cottage for 3 nights. It was immaculately clean & the kitchen had everything we could want. The lodgings are just a 2 minute drive from the centre of Fort Bragg and directly opposite the Mendocino Botanic Gardens, which are a delight. The added bonus was Dana, the owner appearing one night with "Lucky" the Llama in tow, what a wonderful surprise and what a marvellous & knowledgeable host she was. We would definitely return if we are ever around that way again the place is delightful.

The house was a little old, but well maintained. Close to town but you felt like you were out in a forest. Well stocked & very clean. Comfy beds. We didn't do any of the Llama things, so I don't know about that. Good hot tub. Good place for a family or a few friends (like we were). Good value for the price.
