La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham New Orleans Airport

We arrived after dark making finding this unlit hotel quite difficult. Once we pulled into our parking spot and headed to the lobby, we encountered a group of 6 shirtless young men with open containers of alcohol entering the La Quinta as we entered. This greeting did not feel welcoming...super dark hotel and parking lot with a group of intoxicated half dressed young men. The Front Desk Staff was nice and quite friendly during our stay. The Lobby was tired and old looking. The elevator (at least the one that was working) was very small and was not cleaned nor floor swept/mopped at all during our 4 day stay. We had our dog with us and understood that the whole 2nd floor was designated for guests with pets. The hallway to our room was also tired looking and underlit. It was fairly clean

Positive: Bed and comforter Negative: Tub was not refinished properly, rough, sharp and injurous. Plumbing in backwards. Had to go down several times for soap, toiletries, towels etc. Just one set supplied. No light bulb in lamp, tv rote did not wor properly. Had to pry a receipt out of them.

Upon arrival we were so excited to have a pool view that we were willing to overlook the giant pool of water on the floor in the hallway. That was until we realized it was a green algae filled pool and the only clear pool we would see was the one we had to walk over to get to our room. In fact the pool has become a pond and has ducks currently living in it. We walked down to see the pool closed sign Let’s be clear, pool is not closed, it’s a toxic waste dump. For “continental breakfast” I walked in to see a sign that says “please do not put boiled eggs in the microwave”. It seemed peculiar to me until I got in and realized that they considered serving cold boiled eggs and undercooked shredded potatoes continental breakfast. Horrible. I will never use this property again.|Starting with check-in. When arrived sometime after 10 pm receptionist was nowhere to be found. There was a sign that the employee will be back in 15 minutes. |When she got back she was at best unfriendly. I gave her my Wyndham frequent number; was told I won't get credit for stay as booked through 3d party.|Next, you need a GPS to get to the assigned room. Huge property with elevators and floors that do not connect if you happen to take a wrong turn, and staff encounterd on the way that can't help you with directions.|The room: A/C not working to cool room even when setting at 60°F. Room was hot and humid even though was the end of December.|The toilet was leaking.|Do not stay here.

The room was old and sink was super bad and water will fill out if you just wash your hand. There's ants in the room and very noisy at night. Elevator does not work on one side and the other side is always full and not coming down have to walk the stairs. Very hard to turn into the hotel since is at the middle of the road and you have to turn and get in from the middle. Parking is not free which is even more annoying since the space is limited. Breakfast only have eggs and pancakes and yogurt everything else is empty and Monday they close up breakfast. Key card was not working and have to reactivate it twice. No tissue box and shampoo for days.
