Kenner Garden Hotel - New Orleans Airport

So, we reserved a room here as a last minute solution. After reading the reviews on here, and Expedia, I was terrified that we were going to be staying in a waterlogged roach motel. We were pleasantly surprised to see a very clean lobby, hallways that didn’t smell (the owners put in automatic scent machines in the hallways) and AC that worked. The mattress was great also. The hotel is definitely in need of a refresh, but what it needs more is a higher standard of maintenance and housekeeping. While the bedding and furniture was clean, the floor wasn’t vacuumed well, and it showed. The tub overflow cover was poorly caulked, and had visible rust stains. The bathroom faucet obviously only gets the briefest of wipe downs, because the handle areas were caked in old toothpaste. The ice bucket

When we booked this hotel it was still in the Hilton brand. After booking we were notified it’s not longer a Hilton and I can see why. This hotel is very much in need of some updates. Someone over looked a big ball of hair laying in the floor from cleaning out a brush. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain well. The sink faucets were crust. The caulk around the tub floor was in need of a refresh. I chose not to use the shower since I went straight home. It was a little crusty. The bathroom lights were missing 2 covers. The hallway did smell nice. Staff was friendly. Hotel needs some TLC. I want edit to say I paid $474 for this hotel stay because it was the weekend of Taylor Swifts Era tour. I could understand if I had paid in the $100 range or less.

I attended a Mardi Gras Ball in the adjacent Pontchartrain center and the location of this hotel was perfect. That was the only thing positive. The first room we received was full of mold and mildew. The entry door could not be closed all the way without extensive effort, closet doors wouldn't open, bathroom door opened half way. Just not acceptable. The second room was a bit better, but still had it's issues. it had a musty smell, floors were dirty, etc. The place could use a much needed renovation and apparently there is structural issues per the manager and why the doors will not open/close all the way. I will note that the ladies working the desk did their best to better the situation.

I am a local who need a place to stay while my nieces stayed at my house during the Taylor Swift concert. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was great, the staff was friendly, the location is safe (a big bonus for New Orleans), parking in their lot was abundant. The price was good. The mattress was new, white linens and duvet were clean, pillows comfortable. Really, you have nothing to worry about staying here! I give it a solid 3 stars.

I stayed at this hotel with my family during the Taylor Swift concert! The Hotel was fully booked up for the concert, but that was expected for an event like this. We came in a bit early and our room was not ready however, Miss Summer, the front desk person, was able to store our luggage for us while we went out to get some lunch. When we returned, we did find Miss Summer back at the desk again and she did inform us that our room still was not ready and offered us a free snack out of the little shop. We didn’t end up getting into our room until after 3:45 PM, which did suck but we found out that they were short on housekeepers.
