La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kansas City Airport

Wow was this hotel ever underwhelming! I concur with all the other critical reviews, and encourage anyone reading this not to dismiss them. We took an “eh it’ll be fine” attitude and booked anyway, and can now report that the hotel was every bit as unimpressive as others said. We absolutely wouldn’t stay again. The building is old and feels ill-maintained; with a pervasive musty, humid, chemical-y smell that was very off-putting. A shower revealed that they way overused some sort of softener or chemical, so it was impossible to feel clean - the towels were also saturated with the same thing, so wouldn’t even absorb enough to dry yourself off. We filled our water bottles in the in-room sink and the water had a similar chemical-y smell to the rest of the building. Breakfast was a disappoin

Positive: Location was convienient Negative: The management seemed unconcerned with the quality of their product…one room had no shampoo, soap or conditioner in shower, the other room had obviously stained sheets on one bed. Continental breakfast was sloppy and half-hearted.

The bed was so comfortable and the room was very clean! Staff was friendly and helpful. Great place to stay! The pool was small but we enjoyed the indoor pool. We will be coming back for sure! Breakfast was good and it was very clean as well in and around the lobby and food area!

I had a great stay at La Quinta by the airport in Kansas City. The staff was very friendly and welcoming from the moment I checked in. They were helpful and made the whole experience smooth and easy. The room was clean and comfortable, which is always important to me. Everything felt well-kept and relaxing after a long day. Another big plus is the location — there are plenty of food places nearby, so it’s really convenient if you don’t want to drive far for a meal. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone needing a comfortable place close to the airport.

We had a wonderful stay! My husband and I came for the Chiefs game and stayed here. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience feel welcoming from start to finish. I especially loved the juice and water machine available all day—it was such a refreshing touch. The room included a jacuzzi tub, though unfortunately the jets weren’t working during our visit. Even so, the overall comfort of the room was excellent. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, and the hotel’s location couldn’t be better—just steps away from shops and restaurants, making it super convenient. Despite the minor issue with the tub, we truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!
