Kapehu Retreat House

This property is indescribable. We went with a plan schedule itinerary to tour the Big Island however we had mostly lazy days at the home.The scenery there is amazing and you become lost in the home. The waterfall is excellent, It is sooo peaceful there. We did go to a luau ;The Gathering of the Kings which was very educational, fun, and beautiful. We went to the Volcanic National Park, Akaka Falls, and other places. Lets me inform you that the Kealani the manager is the person that you should go to for everything. THANKS KEALANI!!!!!! She was very nice and helpful at all time excellent. I cannot tell you how well this place is kept. Kapehu Retreat is a beautiful home, on a gorgeous piece of land, complete with a private waterfall and luxurious hot tub with ocean views. Who could ask for anything more when on vacation. Oh and now they offer a luau experience at the home with Tahitian and Hula dancers.

Stayed here in June 2018, and rented both the main house and the cottage. The location and home is gorgeous, you can read the details in the other reviews. However, BUYER BEWARE. We had major problems with Marcy, the owner. After our stay, she refused to return the balance of our deposit (about $100 after the standard cleaning fees) and also tried to make us pay $600 for apparent damage to their roof-mounted wi-fi antenna on the cottage. There was no wi-fi in the Cottage during our stay, which we did not mind, because we had wi-if at the main house. We didn’t think twice about it. However, a couple weeks after our stay, we received a terse e-mail from Marcy accusing us of “breaking” the roof mounted antenna on the cottage. She said she had some acquaintances fix it, and she’d “call it good

My husband and I stayed here along with some family about 4 years ago, I thought the home and grounds especially the Waterfall was no doubt a piece of Paradise the House was very clean and the ground were beautifully matained.

This place is a little piece of heaven on earth!!!! Jack the caretaker was wonderful guy and very helpful. Out family of seven was very comfortable here. Central location to many island activities. If you get the opportunity to stay here take it. You won't be sorry.
