Hilltop Legacy Vacation Rental

We were honestly relieved when we could leave after three nights. This place is basically a private house where rooms are rented out, and it really feels like that. Our room was quite small and outdated – the TV was probably the most modern thing in it. The shower barely had any water pressure, the sink drain smelled unpleasant, and the windows didn't seem properly sealed. The whole house is extremely noisy – you can hear every step, every word, every door. Even with earplugs, sleeping at night or relaxing in the morning was almost impossible. On top of that, there are dozens of rules labeled around the house, which made it feel more like a youth hostel than a vacation rental. Overall, we wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Positive: Location Negative: Loose pets and tiny room.

Room has no soundproof. You can’t sleep. Too many animals around the house and noisy. When you come to Hilo you visit all day and at night you wanna have a rest but at this place is impossible. The owner has to invest in the sleeping quality of guests. Mattress is bad as well. Cheap one. And too many rules. Everywhere is a sign you to not do something. Happy that we stayed just two nights. I need to sleep. 💤 and is too expensive.

I stayed here for three nights over July 4th (had a great view of the fireworks without all the chaos!), and it was great. I had no problems with checkin, parking, or the facilities. Excellent communication! The room was charming and nicely decorated and very comfortable with a coffee maker and bottled water. Very clean. Best of all, I had originally book for the week before but lost the reservation, and my conference trip was cancelled. They reached out and offered to give me a credit, which I accepted and ended up staying for 3 nights instead of 2. I really appreciated them not just charging me for a cancellation. I will be staying here again. As a woman traveling alone, SAFE and CLEAN are two of my top priorities. This checked all my boxes. The shared living space is also really beautif

It was cozy home and beautiful location, can see downtown Hilo ! And night time , Koki frogs sound amazing and heeding. Beautiful sunrise can see from the windows.
