Hyatt Place Jackson/Ridgeland

Wonderful area. Free parking. Lobby is great. Staff is nice. Very quiet area. ||Now for the bad parts. The rooms are not as clean as you would expect. Dusty, visible mold in showers. Rusted out handles on every drawer, towels rods and bathroom fixtures. Bathroom exhaust fan uncovered and noisy. Mold on sink aerator. Stipple has been scraped off the ceiling but wasn’t refinished. Bedding was clean.

The worst place I've ever stayed under the Hyatt brand. Had to ask for my complimentary water as a member and then was directed to get it myself. Entered my room and the light was blinking on and off, while attempting to call front desk several times before getting and answer and maintenance taking some time to arrive. Noted maintenance was very kind aside from this. I don't even know where to begin with rickity office table leg, one working outlet so I couldn't operate the clock and light at the same time, rusted iron board, the closet had no rack for hangers, the closet door didn't close to the rocking mini fridge, to one trash can for the entire room placed in the bathroom, and smeared black finger prints on the partition like someone was fighting for their life in here. Toilet did not flush…. They fixed…… toilet did not flush…… I fixedRoom floor filthy!  Towels never changed.  Room never cleaned up.  Room was not available until 6:00 pm.   Ugh!  We waited and waited and waited!Front desk was friendly but could not get room ready.  Your female staff had lovely clothes and hair and makeup like they were going to a pro….. I never saw them do anything!  Ugh!I’m not sure where your linens are for this hotel, but one of the reasons we had to wait two hours with while they washed and dried the linens to put them back on the bed. Are you kidding me!!

You get what you pay for here. To their credit the bed was comfortable but a lot of other issues. Room had mold like stains on ceiling, one of the cabinets had a broken handle and the in room refrigerator didn't work. We tried asking for additional towels and were told they were washing more and to try later - we never got a follow up. Someone we were traveling didn't get a soap bar in their room for hand washing because the supply truck hadn't arrived. The staff is friendly and doing their best but it's clear management/ownership needs to invest more in the property. The proximity to the Renaissance shopping center at least means you don't have to spend a lot of time in the room.

Went to our room & door was ajar!! Room was clean but when I opened a drawer I found a pair of well worn work boots!! I couldn't get the room darkening shade to pull down! Sloppy caulking around the tub/shower...it looked like a 3 yr old did it!! No shampoo or body wash in the shower...empty bottles! Breakfast...no fresh pancakes or waffles! No yogurt, no fruit. Omelet was tasty but the fried potatoes were just bad tasting. For the price of the room this stay was a huge disappointment. We'll definitely stay elsewhere next time. Ugh!!
