Homewood Suites by Hilton Jacksonville Deerwood Park

The rooms were great, the lower rating is because the breakfast was really terrible. They were renovating the lobby area so breakfast was served in a small meeting room. Maybe this changed what was typically on offer? There were only paper (super thin and flimsy) plates, plastic silverware. The bagels were like bricks. There were oranges (the only fresh fruit) but no knife to cut them with. The eggs and grits were ok but that's it. The garbage cans were running over with all the paper products. It was just really bad quality and options. The sleeping rooms were good - comfortable beds and plenty of space. We used this fitness room, this was also reasonable for such an hotel.

The hotel is adequate, but not quite up to the standards of other Homewood Suites I've stayed at. The very basics are all there, and ok, it just felt like management was trying to cheap out on whatever they could get away with. The kitchens were worse stocked than most other kitchenette hotels, including other Homewoods. The non-stick pan was scratched, and I was not supplied with a new one after asking twice. They don't come with sponges or dish soap, which is bizarre for a hotel with kitchenette. I asked at the front desk and was given some dish soap, but the only sponge they had was a scrubbing pad, which the staff member inexplicably cut in half before handing to me. What did that save...50 cents? Housekeeping, which was supposed to come every other day, didn't come until I asked to be

Loved our stay. Front desk we're all warm and welcoming. Julio is an awesome worker and performs his job with pride making sure the family has towels for the pool and are enjoying their stay.

Shawnta and Kay Kay are an outstanding example of employees who go above and beyond and who are genuinely passionate about their job and company around them. They both helped me out on numerous occasions and had no hesitation whatsoever and made sure the accommodations I needed were met. They are both a great example of how outstanding employees should act and lead by example due to those two I will be back and recommending others to come here and ask for them. If you do come here please ask for shawnta and kay kay for help and guidance at this hotel.

The room was older but not bad. There was hair all over the shower curtain. Had to flush a cockroach that decided to visit. The staff talked up a social event for Wednesday night, with adult drinks and appetizers. The day of they said no alcohol with no explanation. The location is quiet and the hot tub was nice despite way too much chemicals. Lastly, I was there for 4 days and never got maid services.
