Home2 Suites by Hilton Portland Airport ME

We booked this hotel for a 4 night stay and as we have stayed at other Home2 hotels we kind of knew what to expect. The hotel staff was kind and responsive to our concerns. Our room was clean and in good shape when we arrived and everything was in working order. Breakfast was okay, not amazing but not the worst I've had either. The freshness of the food was the biggest problem with it. The biggest complaint and honestly the reason I give it 3 stars is the sound proofing. You can hear pretty much everything that goes on in other rooms around you. From kids running around to people being loud in.... other ways. This is the biggest improvement that needs to be done in my opinion.

Honestly, I wanted to give it 4-stars but the noise issues knock it down to 3. We as a couple were here for 7 days. Rooms are clean, TV is decent size. Shower only was a bummer but hot water and pressure were good. Proximity to the hotel and the shuttle service was great. Staff was friendly and great through the holidays. Breakfast is complimentary and they have a decent spread in the mornings. Laundry is available but a bit on the expensive side, it will run you about $10 a load. Biggest issue was noise - noise proofing within the hotel is rough. Kids screaming, floor above stomping then the fire alarm in someone's room randomly going off and it took quite awhile to turn off. One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. Been with Hilton for years. Why are there ants and spiders in my room on the second floor? Breakfast was nasty too. The eggs did not taste like eggs and barely anything looked edible. This hotel is one of the cheapest in Portland though, so I suppose you get what you paid for… My flight was delayed 6-7 hours and I asked if I could come back since I technically paid for the morning still (checked out at 3am) and only wanted to relax for the morning before their check out time. They could not accommodate. Also, heads up. Walls and floors are thin. You can head EVERYTHING in other rooms.

I checked in to Home 2 suites by Hilton at 50 Maine Mall Rd. I went to my floor 2nd and saw a mess several trash cans and work supplies littered the hallway. I saw two male employees working. They both made eye contact with me as I walked towards my room and they saw me enter my room not more then 5 nothing passed after using the restroom that one of the male workers using a key he had entered my room No knock nothing just entered my room that he just saw me go in. I was shocked scared and angry. I yelled for him to get out and went right to the manager who did nothing but say he would estate the matter. I was given a new room and told the morning manager would speak to me. We'll he was no better offering only a 20% discount. I was scared and had an anxiety attack shortly after. BE CAREFU

We spent two nights here recently. Was in town for a brother passing. We had two dogs with us. Rachel at the front desk was awesome I think she was the best one, she was very nice and accommodating. I think $75 for a pet fee is a little high. The two USB ports in the room did not work, they had power but when you plugged your USB cord in they would not fit in tight enough and hold to be able to charge anything. Other than that our experience was pretty good.
