Holiday Inn Express & Suites South Portland by IHG

I would like to shake the hand of whoever designed these rooms. I travel a lot and this was by far the best room design I've ever seen. There was a spot for everything you travel with, not an inch of space is wasted and it is really forward-thinking and modern. I usually try to only book in hotels where there is a free breakfast but this one was one of the best. Pancakes, eggs, potatoes, and I love the free tea coffee and hot chocolate 24/7. I was traveling with my husband and my sister and her husband and they were very accommodating, making sure we got rooms right next to each other. Overall a 10 out of 10 experience.

Very clean Super breakfast buffet. Staff was very helpful. One of the best pools around. Only thing that would be helpful is a night light in the bathroom. Centrally located by the airport and only about ten minutes from downtown Portland. Would stay again!!

Stayed here 2 nights for a shopping trip booked because of good prices and generally have great experiences with the IHG brand. Location is really safe, quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Check in process was a a breeze. Rooms were very clean and had no untoward odors. Breakfast choices was really sizeable and enough to get us through the day. What needs improvement: The sofabed mattress in the room was very old and was already sagging in the middle, you can feel the springs poking through your back. Bathroom was cramped and very dark and dated, shower pressure was very weak. Breakfast ends too early at 9:30am, should at least be 10:30. Overall a great stay and if given the chance would stay again for a great deal.

I had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express in South Portland. The hotel was clean, quiet, and really comfortable — exactly what you want when you’re traveling. Big shout-out to Shane and Melissa! They were super friendly and made everything feel easy from the moment I checked in. The room was cozy, breakfast was solid, and the location made it easy to get to shops and restaurants. Overall, just a smooth, stress-free stay. I’d definitely come back!

We LOVE this hotel! We stay here every time we do an overnight trip to Portland Maine as it is close to everything for us!! We also stay here every time we fly out of Portland Maine Jetport, which is about 2 or 3 times a year. The rooms are super clean, roomy and the beds are SOOOO comfortable! We love that we can leave our vehicle at the hotel while we are away on a trip and can use the hotel shuttle to and from the jetport!
