Holiday Inn Express Kansas City Downtown

Very clean and comfortable rooms and facilities overall. Beautiful, nicely decorated, historic building. Complimentary cookies downstairs are quite good. Tram is a short walk away and so are some restaurants and attractions. Nice view from my room, and I was able to do laundry time with quarters which was very convenient. Everyone at the front desk was polite and helpful. My only complaint is the elevator is a bit slow, but it is an old building so that isn't too surprising. There are two elevators, though, and I prefer to take the stairs when I can, anyway. Would definitely stay here again.

My second time staying here. Great location and reasonable price. Very nicely updated rooms. Nice amenities. OK breakfast. Great staff, although the breakfast lady that sang to us last time doesn't still work there. The only bizarre thing that I didn't go back inside to ask is whether they know the Chiefs flag is upside down. It's perfectly understandable to fly it upside down after this wretched season, but it took a minute to figure out why it looked so weird.

This hotel is within easy driving distance of the Kauffman Center, where I saw a Christmas concert. I really liked the room--clean, very quiet, with a nice little nook for the desk, where I did a little work. I thought the free breakfast was decent, and the space downstairs was nice. Coffee and hot water available anytime, and people obviously liked hanging out there. Very nice service from all the staff.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The young lady at the front desk was especially kind. The room was very clean and refreshed daily and the hotel was in a safe location with parking. The breakfast was great with several hot and cold options with a lovely dining area. I highly recommend this hotel! Next time I come to KC I will definitely stay here. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Every staff member was perfection. They were helpful, kind and knowledgeable. The room was clean. However it was shabby. The central air vent rattled constantly. The walls need paint, there were cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling above the bed, there were mildew stains in the bathroom and poorly grouted seams. For the cost, I would expect it to be better. I won't stay there again despite how good the staff was.
