Holiday Inn Express Jacksonville East by IHG

Prior to getting off our cruise, I called the Holiday Inn Express Jacksonville, FL to see if can hang out at the hotel until our flight home. I spoke with Julie at the front desk and she was very accommodating to our request. We arrived at the hotel and Julie told us we can put our luggage in the business center room until it was time for us to leave for the airport. Julie also informed us that the hotel has a free shuttle service to the airport. This saved us a lot of money! Thank you so much Julie and Holiday Inn Express Jacksonville! We are extremely grateful! We have stayed at this hotel twice and highly recommend. Rooms and property are very clean, staff is helpful and friendly, and they are pet friendly. Breakfast is good with hot and cold items, and fresh cinnamon roles. They have an outdoor pool that is kept clean and ready for a swim. (not heated) The property is in a quiet location that is easy to access Atlantic Blvd, close to the 295.

The noises last night were ridiculous people slamming doors, cars racing outside, dogs barking. We get ready to leave this morning and there is a pile of dog poo in the hallway near the elevator. Breakfast was just the minimum. Building seriously needs insulation. I love Holidsy inns but this was not the best pick!

Check in was a bit slow, but not from lack of effort of the clerk. It appeared as though she was doing the job of two people. There was some type of construction outside the lobby, but it did not interfere with service. Location is not convenient if you want to walk to dinner or anywhere else, but if your goal is to jump back onto Interstate 295, this is your place. Very happy with the room's overall cleanliness and the comfort of the bed. Parking is plentiful and convenient. I tried breakfast on my way out, but it was just opening up. The frozen egg omelet is certainly not my favorite, and the waffle maker was inoperable. This was my only real disappointment of an otherwise enjoyable brief stay. Maybe not the best for families, but appeared popular for travelers for an overnight.

Super nice, super clean, great breakfast(cinnamon rolls were delish), great coffee. Arrived a day early and Mario went above and beyond to find me a dog friendly room. Great guy, great customer service! Other than it being right next to the overpass which could which can be a bit misleading this was a great stay.
