Holiday Inn Express Covington-Madisonville by IHG

While I have actually stayed in this hotel for years when we travel home, this WAS absolutely the last time ANY of our family will patronize them. The room was so dirty, we had to be moved. There was literally someone's panties on the mattress. We were "upgraded" despite being told they were completely full. The upgraded room had the air set on 60° and we could not adjust it. We were told that maintenance wasn't available. The room smelled like standing water. We used pillows over the vent to regulate the temp for the entire weekend. The fridge in the room was full of ice, so much so until we couldn't use it (pic included). As we were walking thru the dining room, something caught my sisters eye. Yes, a roach right there! Causing us to NOT partake of their breakfast dining, wasted perk.

Shoutout to Rochelle and Daze at the front desk for making check-in seamless! Housekeeping had the room spotless with clean towels and beds made thoroughly. Front desk went out of their way to help make our stay a pleasant one. Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. The staff deserve 10 stars.

This hotel could not possibly offer a better stay. Fantastic breakfast. Wonderfully new and cleans rooms. Great location! Right between a Sam's Club and a Best Buy . . . not even mentioning the other places within walking distance. Bravo!

This was a very nice and clean hotel. We reserved a room with two queen beds, but upon arrival, they were oversold in those rooms. Many hotel front desk hosts would have said “too bad”, but Daze took the kind initiative to give us an additional room for our 6’5 son! We really appreciated this gesture. As a result we all had a restful night’s sleep.

Positive: The nice lady in breakfast area . She had a wonderful friendly personality and welcomed all guests. Negative: The a/c didn’t work in the first room. So I went to the front desk and they gave me a different room
