Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans Covington/Mandeville

I was really expecting this to be a good experience, but from the beginning has been a hassle. I first came to just reserve a room in person, the Caucasian lady at the front desk told me that I had to do it online. I learned when I came to check in that I could’ve just gotten it in the first place, thanks lady for nothing, only was this regular room entirely too much. I was also hassled by the mixed raced woman at the front desk for having guests in my room. I didn’t know that I could pay 200 bucks for a woman to accuse me of having a party. She then went on to insist that she told me about the number of guests which wasn’t a big deal because they were only visiting me for a short time, but the way she made me feel is the reason why I did this review. I really only like to do good reviews,

Positive: Good location close enough to the freeway but far enough to avoid the traffic noise. Negative: I’ve stayed at this particular hotel several times over the past few years and it’s starting to show its age. I was given a room in the annex and the small, dark bathroom definitely needed an upgrade compared to other Marriotts.

What was once a shining icon of the Marriott properties on the Northshore has degraded into a hot mess. From the time of my check-in to the time of departure I battled with the front desk over $40 per night charges made to my room for incidental services to the mistaken charge from the in house coffee shop. The crowning moment of the stay was being awaken by the property’s fire alarm and sprinkler system activation. Other guests and I huddled together outside of the building at 6 AM whilst the fire department cleared whatever was the matter. I used this property for years dating back to 2004. Hard to see the pathetic room and property conditions in such serious decline.

The rooms are absolutely filthy. Had stains and sticky substance on pillows. Walls were stained and the room smelled terrible. Was moved and upgraded to a “suite”. Just a nasty. Hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. Do not stay here. It is pretty gross. The toilet paper and towels in the room are wet from the humidity. Not ok. Furniture is stained and smells like a dog went on a long walk in 90% humidity. Avoid at all cost.

Stayed here on a vacation to see family. Loved the location cause it was close to everything in town. When I checked in I had to wait for the front desk attendants to finish bickering about where the razors and shaving cream were before I actually got it. Room was clean when I got there but wasn’t cleaned the entire stay. They just made my bed everyday and restocked towels. Never vacuumed, wiped counters or wiped shower out. 5 day stay and only stocked my coffee once. On one morning I woke up and stepped on a cockroach. Called front desk and asked them to please change my sheets and to please vacuum and change the garbage out, was told by front desk how sorry they were that happened and they would change my sheets and clean the room but they didn’t. The first night I was there I had left
