Hilton Garden Inn Arlington Shirlington

We called several times on our drive in, over the span of 8 hours, trying to get ahold of the hotel and the phone would ring about 20 times and disconnect. When we finally checked in, around 10:30pm, I asked the front desk it and only then did they realize the phone hadn't been working the majority of the day. As far as the room goes, the bathroom was a bit on the smaller side and the bed was very firm (hurt our backs) but all in all it was clean and mostly spacious and we were comfortable here. As far as service goes, Christopher at the front desk was amazing. He gave us great advice on traveling into DC, on what to see and was really honest and kind in his recommendations. Positive: Proximity to the relative I was in town to visit. Negative: No ventilation in bathroom. Not adequately prepared for my stay. Asked to pay a high incidental fee upfront at check-in when my 3-day stay was fully prepaid. That amount was debited from my bank account immediately as a purchase-not just held.

The rooms were large, comfortable, and very clean. Equipped with a microwave, fridge, and Keurig machine. The bathroom is a little small and could use some updates, but functional for the week I was there. What really makes this hotel is the LOCATION!! Just across the street from a running/bike path, always swarming with people, day and night. Felt safe every time I went out for my run regardless of it being well after sundown. Incredible restaurants within a few minutes walk. Service was also second wonderful. The hotel shuttle drivers were so accommodating and got me where I needed to be on time, every time. They even adjusted their schedule to make sure I got to the airport for my departure rather than having to order an Uber. I WILL be staying here again!

The hotel has the best location being in Shirlington right across the street from The Signature Theater and surrounded by restaurants and other conveniences. The garage at $22/night is not in the building but across the street. It is the 4th floor of the Harris Teeter garage. Spacious easy parking but you do have to go outdoors and walk 2-3 minutes. The renovated rooms are beautiful and spacious. The restaurant served good choices for breakfast ($). As Diamond members we were disappointed in the service. We probably should have said three stars instead of four because we had to phone three times to get our toilet repaired and twice to get the heat on. Not Hilton quality responses for sure. We would return particularly for the location.

Enjoyed our stay at this newly renovated location. I need to know what that scent is when you walk into the lobby, it’s smells amazing in there! The staff were absolutely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. The neighborhood was perfect for a staycation! Had such a good time that I forgot to take pictures. Improvements: Enjoyed the rooftop however, the light was not working. Also, the bar could use some rum selections. Opted to grab drinks somewhere else because of this.
