Hermosa Hotel

Nice cottage style hotel for the price we paid. Got two rooms (Jack and Jill style, I guess?) interconnected with fridge, microwave, and two full bathrooms. They have air conditioning, heating, bathroom towels, and the place was squeaky clean. Also have hot fresh coffee in the reception area. 100% recommended.

The location is fantastic—just steps from the Catalina Express dock, golf cart and bike rentals, and only a 5–7 minute walk to all the main restaurants. The famous Catalina Casino is about a 7-minute walk away as well.||The staff truly made our experience exceptional. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and very accommodating. A special shout-out to Mr. Sualo with whom we booked over the phone. He was fantastic, along with the other wonderful ladies at the front desk. Knowing that our return boat was at 3:50 pm and that the weather was windy and rainy, another staff named Deming graciously allowed us to stay longer at no extra charge, which we really appreciated.||We were

Positive: We loved everything! It’s close by the beach & shops & grocery store. Negative: Maybe that staff is not there at night and there is no security at the door. Anyone can walk into the hotel after staff leave. I seen a hotel that had a security code for entering the building. That would be good to do.

When we arrived we were given room 3 - next to the bathrooms and the storage area for beach chairs. The rooms and lobby are dilapidated. The sheets had sand and hair on them when we walked in. When we pulled down the comforter we noticed stains on the sheets. I truly didn't even want to shower in the bathroom let alone walk around without shoes on. The AC worked at first but blew what can only be described as "sweaty socks smell" throughout the room. We kept it on due to the heat, but by the end of our stay there was ice on it and it was no longer working. The window in our room looked out to outdoor stairs, but the window was so dirty you could hardly tell what was out there. It was like staying in a 10 euro hostel in Europe. Cockroach in the bathroom!!! It is in a great location, but due to other factors, I had to put 1 for everything. Read the other reviews. You'll get the point. I don't know why management isn't doing anything. I'm in a room and feel like people have been trying to get in. Crazy. And the walls are paper thin. My neighbor has been watching Sponge Bob and Family Guy. Found a bug in the shower and no hot water. The public shower they wanted me to use had a faucet not working and complete outdoor access so anybody from outside (outdoors) can get in. Messed up! This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in my life. Worse than a third world country! They should have their license revoked.
