Glenmore Plaza Hotel

My wife and I stayed at the Glenmore Plaza Hotel on Catalina Island for her birthday and had an absolutely amazing experience. When I booked the room, the price was very fair, and I chose a basic room since we planned on being out exploring most of the day. We arrived early and were greeted by Jimmy at the front desk, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the start. Our room wasn’t ready yet (which was totally understandable), but Jimmy offered to store our bags in a secure storage room with multiple cameras, so we felt completely comfortable leaving our things while we explored. The hotel is also right in the center of town, which made it the perfect location—everything was within easy walking distance. My family treated me with a trip to Catalina Island for my 60th birthday with my 2, 30-something daughters.(we live in NJ-one of them lives in Santa Barbara). We stayed at the Glenmore because they had balcony rooms. Across the street was a fancier hotel. No visible balconies there. The Glenmore has large balconies which you can view the water from and also gave us a great view of the half marathon that took place while we were there. The front desk people were delightful and after bantering we realized we were from the same place on the East Coast. The hotel is vintage with vintage wicker furniture identical to my mother in laws beach house. Spotlessly clean. We played cards and had mimosas on the balcony each night. Beautiful memories. Room 107 was recently remodeled, spacious with a sofa and a small outdoor patio space with no view but nice for a morning or afternoon relax. Breakfast was simple fare of bagles, muffins, coffee, tea and o.j. For those with bad knees and hips, there are 3 steps into the lobby and 4 more up to the first floor rooms. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel.

They should not offer breakfast if it is poorly offered.

We had such a great experience here. The staff were incredibly kind and truly went out of their way to help us—especially when we needed a room last minute. They made the whole process smooth and stress-free, and their warm, accommodating attitude really stood out.||We and our husky, Blue, are so grateful for the amazing service and would definitely stay here again!
