Catalina Canyon Inn

Was a bit worried after reading some negative reviews. Totally unfounded! Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Room was modern, clean and the beds were very comfortable. Our view from the balcony was just overlooking the restaurant, but we didn’t spend much time out there. Didn’t use the pool. Had steak at the restaurant, no seasoning and very thin, but cooked properly. I think the Mexican dishes would be better. We used the shuttle multiple times. Had absolutely no issues! Shuttle drivers were responsive, friendly and helpful. The hotel gives you the shuttle phone number so you can call the driver directly. We never had to wait more than a few minutes for the shuttle.

Positive: It was clean, and the staff was polite Negative: The main reason that we rented from this hotel instead of one of the ones that was downtown was because this one advertise that they had a Jacuzzi we were interested in using the Jacuzzi to relax after a long day but they dont have a Jacuzzi.Disappointing

An absolutely lovely stay in Avalon with incredible staff! Yes, this location is awesome. It's close to town but far away enough to enjoy a quiet night on the balcony. The food at the Sunset Bar & Grill was great! We had the chilequiles and tres leches stack for breakfast and they were both amazing. But what really stood out for us was the staff. Our shuttle driver Jose was so sweet and helpful. Francisco was amazing! Nicole and Dawn, so helpful and welcoming. One night wasn't long enough but if you're looking for a beautiful place to stay while on Catalina, this is it!

The property itself is gorgeous, comfortable, and tucked away in a peaceful mountain setting. Jose, the shuttle driver, is fantastic, and the restaurant staff are quick, friendly, and genuinely attentive. Abby and Dawn at the front desk are outstanding—professional, welcoming, and exactly the kind of people any hotel should be proud to have. The place is clean, pretty, and overall well-maintained. But all of that was nearly ruined by one person: Ophelia at the front desk. Her behavior was shockingly unprofessional. She constantly talked over me, refused to let me finish a single sentence, and treated me with open hostility for no reason. She repeatedly threatened to charge me for an extra full day just because I asked for a 12 p.m. checkout—an extremely minor request, especially during a s

Best thing about this hotel is the free shuttle and friendly driver and beautiful landscaping.Front desk lady is rude and not friendly. We had 5 rooms booked and they had none available earlier than 4 and later which was a bit challenging as the we arrived early morning and asked for one room to use for kids to rest a bit. They are not accommodating at all with check in and check out times. Rooms and bathrooms could be cleaner. Onsite restaurant was also very slow and unfriendly service . The advantage of this hotel is availability of family rooms but you’re better off staying on main street and booking multiple rooms.
