Heritage Inn

This is a charming but tiny old world hotel in a great part of town. We were in Artesia because all rooms in Roswell were sold out during the Air Races there, and we’re lucky to get a room, even in Artesia. Since our choices were so few, our expectations were low, but we were pleasantly surprised at the Heritage Inn. Pros: Immaculately clean. Terrific location in Artesia Wonderfully restored Comfortable beds. Spacious room. (We had the deluxe queen) Reasonable rate. Cons: Its terrific location is a 2sided coin. Being directly on Main Street, it gets noisy. No elevator, and all 10 rooms are on the 2nd floor. No breakfast while we were there. No working ice machine. This hotel is more like a Bed and Breakfast - simple and elegant. We liked the amenities offered - even noticed that there is a laundry room. The outdoor patio looked nice, but we arrived late to the hotel and were too tired to try it out.||Our room was comfortable and spacious with a high ceiling. It was relaxing - nice and quiet. The bathroom had a nice feel to it - less like a hotel and more like a home. We were glad we made this choice over the myriad of places offered by the hotel chains.

Upon arriving it took a couple calls to get a response at 5pm. I did not know no one would be there. Once inside the stairs up are a bit much when you have knee issues & a replacement in 2 weeks. I knew it was upstairs, but these stairs seemed to go on forever for here. When it’s your last stop after 2 weeks of traveling we needed to get repacked for airport so everything came in. |After we got settled it was OK, just rough every time we left & returned. Be forwarded if you have any issues with stairs. When I booked months ago my knee wasn’t this bad.|Room was clean and no complaints there. Washer and dryer were good. There’s a patio, but we didn’t get a chance to use it.|Would have loved 2 sets of bath towels (for each) since we were there 2 nights. We left fairly early and got in at 8pm

I stayed here on vacation while headed to Carlsbad Caverns on a drive from Albuquerque, and really enjoyed it. It's cute and quiet, my room was clean and very nice with one queen size bed, desk, armoire, TV, mini fridge and microwave. The hardwood floor was very nice. A nice large window gave me a great view of the evening storm that rolled in, it has heavy duty curtains you can close for privacy. The bathroom was smaller with just a shower but was very nice. It's located on Main street within walking distance of shops. For breakfast I had cereal and fruit, the fresh strawberries were fabulous and the apples were very good. The Inn only has 11 rooms, all but one are on the second floor so you do have to carry your suitcase up a long flight of stairs. Since I was only staying one ni

My wife and I stayed 3 days at the Heritage Inn. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed was a little soft for our liking. Check-in was quick and the front desk personnel was very pleasant. There is a back patio deck great for relaxing. Felt homey, free of the commercial feel found in hotel chains. Little pricey for the room size but an overall enjoyable stay. We would return if in the areas again.
