Hampton Inn Eau Claire

Positive: Location, clean, cozy ... loved the pool and hot tub. And I loved being able to access the pool until midnight. This is very nice. Negative: It was a great stay!

Overall had a comfortable stay and great staff/service. Location is convenient. A few things came up: - The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Had stale biscuits, cold gravy, and the eggs were watery. - Our room was comfortable but really needed some updates. The furniture looked worn and dirty, and the shower design really needs a re-work. The tub is a roll in shower but the drainage is either not big enough or they need to install something in the actual floor. The entire floor flooded and started leaking out into the entryway of the room. We had to grab a whole bunch of extra towels from the concierge to clean up the mess. Would like to give this location another chance in the future.

When I booked this room, one of the top criteria for selection was that it had a pool and a hot tub. The pool/hot tub was closed. Had this been disclosed, I would not have stayed here. A simple informational statement informing that it's under construction or temporarily closed on their website would have been nice.

This motel was way overpriced for what we got. $236 for a small room with 2 queen beds. It would have been ok if there hadn’t been a loud horn type sound in both elevators and a nicer breakfast. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Many items were empty, the hot food was just warm, the juice dispenser had colored water coming out of it. My “orange” juice was pale yellow with no orange flavor, tasted like water. Another patron mentioned the same about the “apple” juice. Also the motel leaves 2 bottles of water in the room, but if you aren’t a “member” they will charge you $3.00 each. If we travel to Eau Claire again we will book at another motel.

One thing you must know: there is a design flaw at this hotel. The toilets are located about 6 inches off of the ground. I've never seen this at any other hotel anywhere. When you sit down, your knees are at your chin. It is very awkward and uncomfortable. If you stay two (2) nights, your room will not be cleaned. You only get one cleaning if you stay 3 nights. There are lots of posted "noise" warnings so there must have been quite a problem in the past, and you must put down a deposit for any damage you do to the room. They make it feel like Led Zeppelin used to stay here, stayed up all night smashing guitars, and trashed the place. The breakfast is very good.
