Hampton Inn Downingtown/Exton

Rooms are tiny. Staff kept telling me housekeeping needed in my room when I had the DND sign on the door. Everything seemed very shady about my stay. My anxiety was through the roof on that stay. I will never again choose this place. Housekeeping couldn't keep the hall clean. The breakfast omelets were always over cooked along the edges, sausage was always greasy. Never had any bacon.

Positive: The room was very nice and the staff was great. Negative: I make a change with the breakfast bar. There was no breakfast meat at the breakfast bar. Also, if they could have maybe a plain egg or egg and cheese little omelet instead of the pepper ones, I think that would be good.

I usually stay at a Hilton property while visiting my daughter at college. I’ve stayed at nearby sister properties, including the Spark across the street (which I honestly think was nicer). I’m not sure that this one will be a repeat. While my room was very clean, there were a few things the neighboring sister properties do better. The room lighting was dim so the room felt dark even with all the lights on. The bathroom vanity was too small.

First the good: good location, good price, clean room, updated bathroom, awesome staff. Breakfast was just average. Not much to choose from if you are gluten free. Bed was not to our liking and the lamps are dim. The real problem was how thin the walls are between rooms.

We stayed here in late November. The first afternoon , the heater did not work. I spoke with the manager. i told her there was a note in the heater saying to use the wall thermostat, it wasn't working. We moved to a new room and by 10:30 pm the heater quit working and was blinking low battery. I told the front night manager, no maintenance until the morning, she offered to move us but we were too tired to move again. I told her we would be up at 8 am and ready to have someone fix the heater. By noon nobody showed up, and I spoke to the day manager, who said she wasn't sure if we had asked maintenance to come early in the morning. When someone arrived he took the thermostat off the wall and spun the batteries, ( an old trick to make batteries work a bit longer). It didn't work and he had
