Hampton Inn Cedar Falls Downtown

When we first checked in, the guest service representative did everything right. She welcomed me as a Hilton Honors member, let me know about the parking situation, gym, pool, housekeeping, and breakfast. She directed me to the elevator and everything was great. When we got inside the room (corner room suite), and it was spacious. Bedroom and living room were separated. The bathroom was rather large. However, the temperature inside the room was 68 degrees (outside temperature was around -10 or so). I raised the thermostat to about 80 and went to sleep. The next morning, the thermostat was reading 63 degrees. I asked the front desk about it. The lady told me that the entire 6th floor was reading similar temperature on her panel. She had offered to move me to another suite or provide us a s

Positive: The lobby is large and great for hanging out. The location is prime to walk to all activities in downtown CF. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Staff on night shift. Love the view of the river from some of the rooms! Negative: Think there's some water issues (mold?) in the ceiling tiles throughout. Also warm in the hallways and room air slow to cool, keep up.

This is a very nice hotel with comfy rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast is outstanding. I love the location overlooking bustling, lively downtown Cedar Falls. But, I deducted one star in protest of the $15 nightly charge to park in the open, ungated lot next to the hotel. This fee was not disclosed when making the reservation, until I saw a small sign on the counter at check-in. How do they even monitor this? You could be dropped off or walk from downtown, etc. I urge hotel management to re-think this tacky money grab.

Stayed here for New Years Eve and we were pleased with the hotel. The front desk lady was delightful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We did not use the pool or have breakfast. The location was perfect for our NYE adventures. We went out for dinner and had drinks at a few locations on Main street. If you plan to spend time in the area this location would be a great choice.

We've stayed here twice now. Kim at the front desk is fantastic! Professional and down to earth. She helped us by loaning us her lint roller when we were dressing up for New Year's and our kitty had taken a nap on my husband's wool coat. The rooms were clean, comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. We will choose this hotel again when we come to Cedar Falls.
