The Black Hawk Hotel

The Black hawk hotel is a awesome establishment, the staff are knowledgeable courteous kind helpful. Rooms are cozy well stocked. Location is nice , downtown close to the ice House museum and within in 1 mi of the Big woods lake and recreation area. All in all must stay was terrific!

The Black Hawk hotel was a beautiful and historic stay. The location is perfect, with so many restaurants, coffee shops, theater, and river all within walking distance. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. We traveled with our pup and loved how dog-friendly the hotel was. A bandana, dog treats, and poo-bags were waiting in our room upon check-in! So thoughtful and an extra touch.||I did see a review, prior to my stay, that recommended bringing your own pillows, because the pillows were flat, not a lot of support. I am glad I heeded that advice, and would also recommend, that if you like extra support while sleeping. With that said, the bed itself was very comfortable. ||I would definitely stay here again.

It’s the second oldest, longest running hotel in the US so it’s old. A tad tired but lovely nonetheless. We were there for UNI Homecoming and the location was great. Lots of great food options close and a quick 2 block walk to the homecoming parade. Staff was lovely and saw to whatever we needed. They have live music on the weekends but we checked out Saturday so missed that. I’m sure it’s classy and enjoyable.

The Friends of the Hearst Center Board would like to recognize and sincerely thank the Black Hawk Hotel for helping coordinate every detail of our Friends of the Hearst membership appreciation event. The event welcomed approximately 100 members and was a wonderful success. The hotel’s beautiful historic Arts and Crafts-style lobby provided an elegant and welcoming setting, perfectly suited to the spirit of the evening. Kenna and her staff were exceptional to work with, coordinating all aspects of the event from setup through cleanup with professionalism, care, and attention to detail. The bartenders were equally wonderful, creating festive specialty holiday cocktails that were both creative and delicious, and added a memorable touch to the evening. My son and I were traveling "over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother's house, we go".||As I was looking at the usual chain motels for an overnight stay, I stumbled across the Black Hawk Hotel. I thought, "Why not? Let's make this a memorable time!"||It was exactly amazing. We got a suite with 2 queen beds, a sitting area and even a jetted tub in our room. It was quaint, comfortable, quiet and clean. All the amenities, all the ambiance. A very attentive and thoughtful person at the front desk.
