Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Rocky Mount

I booked the room online and while reserving the room, it froze. Waited about 10 to 15 minutes to see if a conformation came through, but nothing came. So booked the room again and getting a conformation. When I arrived to the hotel they told me I had 2 rooms for 2 nights. I explained what had happened and she went to get the manager on duty. Manager wouldn't step out of the office to talk with me and proceeded to tell me that I had to pay for 1 night of the extra room, even though this was not my fault. I will not be using them ever again. Poor customer service.

1 Star - Staff Response to Safety Concerns Unacceptable The room itself was clean and the property appeared well-maintained. However, our experience was completely ruined by the staff's indifference to a serious problem. At 1 AM, we were awakened by heavy cigarette smoke coming from the adjacent room. The smoke was so bad it made our room uninhabitable. When we reported this to the front desk, we were told to "wait until the next shift" - no offer to move rooms, no investigation, no attempt to address a clear violation of the smoke-free policy. The smoke continued all night. We got maybe an hour of sleep and had to leave at 7 AM, just seven hours after checking in. We paid for a full night and received nothing. Positive: absolutely nothing Negative: I dont know where to begin, from the lack of customer service at the front desk, to the dirty room. We went from nasty hair in the sink, to ants all over the bathroom, to an extremely loud noise coming from the heater at 1 am that did not turn off at all

0 star staff response & no trust in this hotel. Worst hotel reservation experience I’ve ever had. I canceled my reservation within the allowed cancellation period and even received a cancellation confirmation number. Despite this, the hotel still charged me for the stay. I contacted the hotel multiple times to request a refund, but the General Manager showed complete irresponsibility by not responding for over two weeks. Unfortunately, Marriott headquarters provided the same level of service — no response for another week. In the end, the issue was resolved in just two days through my credit card company. Clearly, the hotel and even the brand’s customer service didn’t take the customer seriously. Very disappointing experience.

Stayed here on our way home from FL. Location is convenient off of I95. Room was clean and check in was quick. Breakfast was included and was just what we needed to finish our trip home. There was a good selection of food. The staff was very friendly.
