Extended Stay America Suites- Newark - Christiana - Wilmington

This place should be condemned. I have stayed in budget hotels, roadside motels, and last-minute airport rooms before, but this was without question the most disgusting place I have ever stepped foot in. This hotel should honestly be condemned. The moment we opened the door, the smell hit us like a wall — a mix of mildew, smoke, and something that honestly smelled like decay. The countertops were burned all over from what looked like people doing drugs. There were holes in the walls. Black sludge was dripping from the bathroom ceiling. The “bed” looked like something from a prison cell — a metal frame sitting directly on the floor with sheets thrown on it. No headboard. No blanket. Nothing that resembled a normal hotel room. I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well taken care of, which made my stay very relaxing. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff truly stood out. Gerri and Brandi were especially kind, professional, and attentive—they made sure everything I needed was handled and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Their positive attitude and great customer service really made a difference. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

I will not stay here again. I booked two nights because I needed something close to work with the snow. I checked in before my shift and the front desk woman was lovely. I went up to my room and did a quick look and then left to go into work. Seemed old but ok. I got off at 3am arrived at the hotel and the front lobby stunk like marijuana and no lobby staff to be found. The card key lock to the front entrance wasn't working so the door was not locked so anyone could walk in. I get up to my double bed room and getting settled quickly and go to bed. When I work up in the afternoon in daylight I was horrified at how dirty the room was. They basically changed the bed sheets and through towels and soap in the bathroom and called it a day. If I could I'd give no stars. It is not clean, the toilet needed plunged within 30 mins of being there. You have to order the cookware. The carpet is so dirty with stains like so gross. The sink has burn marks from cigs. People are using Crack and meth outside and possibly in the rooms. I would not come back as it is not safe
