Extended Stay America Select Suites- Kansas City - South - I-49

I arrived at the Extended Stay of America Select Suites which is located at 11301 Colorado Avenue Kansas City, Missouri on January 30th, 2025. The night of my arrival on January 30th, 2025 was an awesome experience with the Extended Stay Night Auditor Mr. CJ. Mr. CJ was kind, professional and very knowledgeable about the hotel establishment. During my 1-year and 13 day stay, I have met the other Night Auditors who are Ms. Joy and Ms. Vaughn who are top notch employees. When I checked in on January 30th, 2025, I did not know that I was going to be blessed with awesome staff employees along with Mr. James who is a very friendly and awesome Maintenance Professional. We sold our home and and had our new place fall through and had to find a hotel for ah couple months and this hotel was the only one that accepted pets , had reasonable rates , thier rooms are nice and the service is great. After seeing the way some people act towards the workers here it's amazing the staff can even keep a smile on thier face.And the manager here is awsome, we ran into a problem that wasn't hers or the hotels and she was able to help us work through it as i have seen her go beyond her responsibilities as a manager with others while maintaining her ethics as an employee with her company wich isn't easy to do. . Positive: Location is the only thing good about this hotel Negative: This hotel was very dirty from the hallways to the rooms. I saw roaches in my room and there was trash behind the bed that was not cleaned. The shower was so dirty I chose not to shower in the morning (seriously). I couldn’t even sleep in this place

We stayed at the Extended Stay America off I-49 South in Kansas City. I have been traveling over 55 years and I have finally found the most disgusting hotel ever. The garbage can at the front door was overflowing. There were people outside drinking from bottles in paper bags. When we reached our room, we were greeted by cockroaches in the bathroom. We registered a complaint and received a call from their corporate office that they would be refunding our money at the end of May. We followed up and we still have not received payment. We then received an email from booking.com that we had to call a number in Europe to discuss the refund. The number they gave us did not work.
