English Inn of Charlottesville

I had a delightful stay at English Inn. Reception was quite polite. The room was easy to find and tidy. Bed was comfy. Bathroom clean, in working order and adequately stocked. Mini fridge worked well and wasn't blocked with items the hotel tried to squeeze extra profit. This hotel has plenty of free parking and the free breakfast buffet was above average - scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, egg casserole, oatmeal, grits, stewed apples, cottage cheese, coffee toast, muffins. A great spread which beat local competing hotels, imo. Would definitely stay here again.

We just want to express gratitude to this hotel's management. Our daughter stayed here while her newborn was in the nearby nicu. They were treated so kindly and we are very grateful to see that there are still good and generous people out there.

Positive: The hot breakfast far exceeded expectations! There were so many options! Also, the indoor pool was a good size for a hotel. Negative: The HVAC system was cold enough but I prefer systems that remain blowing the entire time vs turning on and off all night.

I am very picky when picking where my family and I stay at. I don’t need all of the modern updates, but I always look for high quality service and clean rooms. This inn had both of these things. We were greeted with a smile when entering the lobby, breakfast was incredible (tons of food options!) and rooms were very clean. This is not a 4 star resort, but it’s the perfect cozy spot to stay at and feel safe while sleeping. Location is decent as well. Close to the mall and lots of food stops. Overall, I would recommend this inn!

Neat, quirky little place with suits of armor and heavy chandeliers, a welcoming sitting area with fireplace in the lobby, clean rooms and the BEST BREAKFAST I have ever had anywhere in a hotel. A little run down around the ears, but I loved it. Heated swimming pool.
