DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Charlottesville

The location is lovely and quiet. Near the airports but the plane noise didn't keep us up. The room was very spacious and felt well-kept and clean! The fixtures did show a lot of wear, though. The decor & furniture felt a little dated, but again, everything was clean and organized. The staff was lovely. We tried to swim in the indoor pool, but it was not heated and uncomfortably cold in room temperature air, unfortunately. We'll be back!

Positive: Outside appearance and lobby were pretty. Beautiful gym and open glass pool area Negative: Fire alarm went off at 7:30 am due to burnt toast in the diningroom. Room had a faint smell of dog pee. Air conditioner worked but was very loud. There was a slime film on the pool.

Conveniently located off route 29 and close to Walmart and Starbucks. 15-20 minutes to the university. Ample parking at no additional charge (no resort fee either iirc). Warm greeting and smooth check in where water and cookie are offered. Rooms are generously sized, clean and comfortable. Tv size is proportional to the room. Coffee, microwave and fridge are included. Bathroom has soft lighting. Atrium pool area is heated. Very quiet, slept well. Great value I’d definitely return.

The restaurant has absolutely horrible service. The sign at the hostess stand says seat yourself, so I did. I sat for 20 minutes and was never waited on, not even offered a glass of water. When I approached the bartender and asked for a server I was told I will get to you when I can. Worst customer service I have experienced in a very long time. As far the room, the light was broken in the bathroom and the shower head was also broken. Horrible experience.

my stay here was awful. i would never recommend ANYONE to stay here. one of their staff here was EXTREMELY disrespectful and the manager as well was rude and condescending. my room also had so many issues. i saw a few roaches roaming around in the lobby and hallways. i also found some bed bugs under my bed. awful, awful, awful. there was even mold in my bathroom! just plain disgusting. if i could rate it a 0/5 i would. TERRIBLE HOTEL.
