Days Inn by Wyndham Effingham

I was in Effingham to visit family, and through priceline booked a room at the Days Inn. We walked into the lobby, which was under construction...loud, dusty and a lot of hammering...not a huge deal...but then we got to the room. 1. It smelled bad 2. It was hot in a strangely humid way. 3. There was water damage in the main room and bathroom. To the point of large stains and peeling wallpaper. We checked the bed, sheets were rough, although I'm sure the had been washed, there were stains on those as well. We noped out of there. I would not recommend. Service wise, the front desk attendant was pleasant and efficient. When we came back out to leave, there was no one there

They are doing construction to update rooms so it was a bit messy for the lack of a better term. Friendly, clean, and our room size was great for our group that was traveling through. Dark and complicated parking lot at night. Morning was a bit better because you could at least see everything. If there was breakfast we didn't eat it because of time.

Enjoyed my sleep because the room was ight except for the chairs. They need cleaning as they look horrible. I was scared to sit on either one. The tub had something stuck to it so I was trying to not get near it when I took my shower ( imagine that). The bed was awesome! Microwave had a burnt spot in it but at 1st glance I thought something was not cleaned out. The carpet looked new so I was happy to see that, but the washcloths $ towels were not. I’d book here again despite the minor things, especially my neighbor with the DOGS! Them dogs wouldn’t hush. The staff was lovely.

Positive: "" Negative: This hotel is in the process of being remodeled. My room had a couple of walls that had been repainted. But the deadbolt in my room didn’t work, the lock on the outside door didn’t work. Honestly, safety was a major concern.

It was a little confusing figuring out how to enter the parking lot from the road. Once I arrived, the front desk clerk didn’t speak English very well, but I was still able to check in and get my room. The room itself wasn’t very clean — there were stains on the bed and chair. I asked for a different room, but the clerk said there were none available, which I found hard to believe since the hotel seemed mostly empty. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and the water pressure and temperature were great. I also liked that the hotel is conveniently close to several restaurants and stores.
