Courtyard by Marriott Greenville Haywood Mall

This is a decent hotel, I have stayed here once and had a good experience so I decided to book another stay. Not that is makes a huge difference, but I am a titanium member with Marriott who typically travels 3 weeks per month, noting that in my 3 years of this type of travel with Marriott I have not once cancelled a reservation, especially last minute. Greenville got 7 inches of snow resulting in me having to cancel my reservation within the cancellation window. This was not a case of me being irresponsible and waiting until last minute, it was physically impossible and unsafe for me to travel. This hotel has denied refunding the last minute travel fee. I understand standing your ground on decisions of irresponsible travelers booking rooms and cancelling last minute, however, for a loyal

This was a nice place to stay for the night! I had recently been to my first ever Courtyard hotel so I definitely knew what to expect, and this one turned out great! The room was clean and comfortable and the outdoor area really gave it a courtyard sort of look! Temporary medical issues kept me from using the pool, but I did notice that there was no hot tub, despite there being an indoor area that looks like it had one at some point. I wonder what that's about?

This hotel was conveniently located, clean and comfortable. The lobby and hallways were beautifully decorated and our room reflected the same care and detail as the rest of the premises. The staff, from the front desk to the ones who truly keep the place running, were friendly and attentive. There was a glitch in the heating/air system in our room and within minutes, we had someone fixing it and then a courtesy follow-up from management. It turned out to be a simple flick of a switch. Although it was not too cold outside, and we probably could have managed, I was impressed with how the staff treated our request, no questions asked — our comfort felt most important. We carefully selected a brand and chose a location other than the downtown hotel we stayed before, and were quite pleased

We stayed in this hotel for two out of three scheduled nights and left early because the room smelled a dog kennel with dog pee and feces. The room temperature was turned down yo 64 degrees when we first arrived, but as we are not polar bears, we raised the temp to 72. As it got warmer, the stench got worse and worse over time. We complained to the front desk and asked them to do something, possibly an ozone machine. They instead shampooed the carpet and we were told house keeping got on their hands and knees and spot scrubbed the worst areas. The smell got worse, the humidity in the room was so bad everything including the sheets felt damp. We checked out early the next morning after two nights of no sleep because of the stench telling the front desk day manager we would not stay another

Room was nice and clean. Location was very convenient. But the service was excellent, they went above ans beyond making us feel welcomed and helping us with questions we had. SUZANNE was absolutely helpful and did a great job, especially for just delaying with an issue on the phone while I waited to check in, she was aaaawesome!!! Thank you and next we are down there we will be staying there again.
