Countryside Inn & Suites, Council Bluffs, IA

I was driving cross country and was only looking for a place to take a shower and get some sleep. I had to maneuver around some indoor construction to get to my room, but otherwise seemed clean enough. Pizza guy delivered directly to my room, shower had good pressure, and I was indeed able to get some Zs. But the most impressive part of this stay was right after I checked out. I went to open my car door and it was locked. All doors were locked and everything was in the locked car (including wallet,keys,phone). I freaked out as I was already behind schedule. Lucky for me, the front desk dude was able to page a couple of guys (who were there on construction) to help me. They were able to break into my car without any damage. Saved me a lot of time, money, and anxiety. They get 5 stars!

Pros: Husband & I were returning home, booked this hotel on way back. It was a convenient location, clean, & comfortable enough with decent amenities & it was close to restaurants & gas stations. Our check-in person, Christena, was friendly & helpful. If need be, we would likely stop here again.||Cons: May have been our room position being a floor above & close to front desk but the sound from there & outside were quite clearly heard.||The breakfast room, open 6-9 a.m., is downstairs & though we arrived just after 8:00 a.m., was already running low on scrambled eggs & sausage. The attendant, while friendly enough, was a bit slow in replenishing & inappropriately dressed & unkempt for being in public - not a good impression. A dress code of something less see-throughish & form-fittin

It was going to be an excellent review. I stayed 2 nights, by myself. It was great until second day mid afternoon afternoon I was in the room, I had taken a shower and sitting on the bed in a T-shirt getting prepared to go out when this lady enters the room and I was like “omg I am in here, I don’t need anything.” She didn’t knock, announce herself or anything. I had to repeat myself again for her to get out, I DONT NEED ANYTHING!! And it took her a minute still to get out! Mind you another cleaning guy had already pulled my trash that morning while I was out on a run. Completely unacceptable! Room was clean, Shower pressure was great, breakfast was bleh. TP was thin. Close to lots of stores, as everything is within a 9-12 minute drive.

This was a very nice hotel and glad we found it! The staff was awesome especially Kristen at the front desk. She was very helpful and kind which you don't find much anymore these days. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was complimentary and very good and different options to fill you up. The price of this hotel was perfect as the quality of the hotel all around was 110% well worth it. This is a family ran hotel which makes it even better. We will definitely be staying here again when we come this way. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay!

Positive: It was clean. The lobby was clean, the room was clean. The room itself was a good size. Negative: There is not an elevator(not to many stairs to go up or down) Ceilings seemed a bit low and the bathroom is tiny.
